TikTok on the iPhone Duo: Bigger Screen, Longer Scroll

Two friends on a beach at sunset, one filming the other dancing

Apple's first foldable iPhone is in stores, and one of the first things people do with a bigger screen is watch more video. If you are wondering how TikTok fits on the iPhone Duo, this is a plain look at what the hardware offers, what a bigger screen does to an endless feed, and what you can do about it.

In short: the iPhone Duo has a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch cover display. A larger screen does not change how TikTok's For You feed works, but it can make each video more absorbing. If you want TikTok without For You, Stillfeed opens tiktok.com with For You, Discover, LIVE and mini dramas redirected to Following, free.

What the iPhone Duo is

Apple announced the iPhone Duo on September 9, 2026, and it went on sale on October 23. It has a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR folding display on the inside and a 5.4-inch outer display, both with ProMotion up to 120Hz. It runs on the A20 Pro chip, starts at $1,999 in the U.S., and comes in Star White and Night Sky. Apple's own pitch for the inner display includes running two apps side by side in landscape, and pinning a video to the top of the screen while using another app in portrait.

Specs in this article come from Apple's iPhone Duo announcement and product page. Stillfeed is an iPhone app, so it runs on iPhone Duo like any other iPhone app.

Why a bigger screen makes a feed stickier

We have not measured how people use TikTok on foldables, and we are not going to invent numbers. The reasoning is simple, though. TikTok's main feed, For You, has no end: the next video is chosen for you and starts playing as soon as the last one finishes. The only thing that normally interrupts it is friction, such as a small screen, a thumb that gets tired, or the feeling of holding a phone to your face.

A tablet-sized inner display with a smooth 120Hz refresh takes some of that friction away. Video looks better, you can prop the phone up, and a long session feels more like watching television than checking a phone. That is exactly the kind of setting where “one more video” stretches. If you already notice that you lose time to short video, see what doomscrolling is and why social media is so hard to put down.

What TikTok itself offers

We do not know how TikTok's own app lays itself out on the iPhone Duo, and Apple has not said, so we will not guess. What we can say about the app in general is that it has a Following tab, but For You is still one tap away and the app is built around it. As far as we know, as of October 2026 there is no setting in TikTok that removes For You.

The tools that do exist are on your side of the phone: iOS Screen Time can cap how long an app is available each day, and you can move TikTok off your first home screen so opening it takes a deliberate step. Both help, and neither changes what is inside the feed. Our guide to phone addiction covers the wider toolkit.

TikTok through Stillfeed

Stillfeed is an iPhone app with a built-in browser. It opens tiktok.com, the real TikTok website, signed into your own account, and changes what the page shows. As of October 2026 on TikTok, its free setting sends For You, Discover, LIVE and mini dramas to Following instead, and hides TikTok's “Open the TikTok app” banner. Search, profiles and your inbox still work, and real messages open in their own view inside Stillfeed. A daily time limit is available in Stillfeed Pro.

Three honest caveats. This is TikTok on the web, not the TikTok app, so some app-only features will not be there. Stillfeed does not change your TikTok account, who you follow or your videos. And it is an iPhone app that runs on iPhone Duo like any other iPhone app; we have not built anything specifically for the foldable screen. The full list is on the Stillfeed for TikTok page.

Small habits that help on any screen size

  1. Decide what you came for. Following, a friend's video, a search. Then stop.
  2. Prefer the cover display for quick checks. A smaller screen is a built-in speed bump.
  3. Set a daily cap and treat it as real. Screen Time works if you do not tap through it.
  4. Take a break from the whole habit once. Our dopamine detox guide explains a sensible way to do it.

Common questions

Does TikTok work on the iPhone Duo?

The iPhone Duo runs iPhone apps. We have not verified how TikTok's own app adapts to the larger inner display, so check TikTok's App Store listing or Apple's pages for current details.

Does a foldable make TikTok more addictive?

There is no study we can point to. A larger, brighter screen can make video more immersive, which is a reason to put limits in place rather than a proven effect.

Can I use TikTok without For You?

Not in TikTok's own app, as far as we know. In Stillfeed, tiktok.com opens with For You redirected to Following.

Does Stillfeed work on the iPhone Duo?

Yes. It's an iPhone app, so it runs on the Duo like any other iPhone app.
