How to Limit TikTok on Your New iPhone Duo

Someone lying in bed in a dark room, lit only by the glow of the phone held above them

A new phone is a fresh start, and a good moment to decide how much TikTok you want in your day before the habit settles in. This guide covers four ways to limit it on an iPhone Duo, from the built-in ones to a change of how the feed behaves.

In short: set an App Limit in iOS Screen Time, move TikTok off your first screen, use the 5.4-inch cover display for quick checks, and if you want the endless feed itself gone, open TikTok through Stillfeed, which sends For You to Following. A limit stops the time; removing For You changes what you are spending it on.

Why set limits on day one

The iPhone Duo went on sale October 23 with a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch cover display, per Apple's announcement. Whatever else changes, TikTok's For You feed stays endless: the next video starts without you choosing it. Habits form in the first weeks with a new device, when everything is reinstalled and nothing is set up the way you eventually want it. That is the easiest time to build in a limit.

If you want the background on why short video holds on so tightly, read what doomscrolling is and our phone addiction guide.

1. A Screen Time App Limit

This is the built-in option and it works on the iPhone Duo like any iPhone.

  1. Open Settings and tap Screen Time. Turn it on if it is off.
  2. Tap App Limits, then Add Limit.
  3. Open the Social category, tick TikTok (or the whole category), and tap Next.
  4. Choose a daily time and, if you like, different times for different days. Tap Add.

Menu wording can shift between iOS versions. The weakness is that the limit can be ignored with one tap, so pair it with a Screen Time passcode that someone else sets, such as a partner or friend, so you cannot approve extra time for yourself in a weak moment.

2. Add friction on the home screen

Move TikTok into a folder on your last page, or remove it from the Home Screen and open it by searching. Every extra step is a moment to ask whether you meant to open it. This costs nothing, and it works on a foldable the same way as on any phone.

3. Use the cover display on purpose

The Duo has a smaller outer display that stays usable when the phone is closed. One experiment worth trying: make a rule that TikTok happens only when the phone is folded. The smaller screen is a natural speed bump, and unfolding it for a long session becomes a visible decision. This is our suggestion, not something Apple prescribes, and your results will vary.

4. Remove the feed, not just the minutes

A time limit treats the symptom. The feed is the cause. TikTok's For You page is built so there is never a last video, and as far as we know, as of October 2026, TikTok has no setting that removes it.

Stillfeed is an iPhone app with a built-in browser that opens tiktok.com, signed into your account. On TikTok, its free setting redirects For You, Discover, LIVE and mini dramas to Following, and hides the “Open the TikTok app” banner. Profiles, search and notifications remain, and messages open in their own view. Stillfeed Pro adds a daily time limit if you want both approaches in one place. Details are on the TikTok page.

Two things to be clear about: it is TikTok on the web rather than the TikTok app, so app-only features may be missing, and Stillfeed runs on iPhone Duo as an ordinary iPhone app.

A five-minute setup for day one

If you want one short routine rather than four separate ideas, try this. First, set the App Limit and pick a number you can honestly live with, not an aspirational one; an unrealistic limit just trains you to dismiss the warning. Second, move TikTok off the first Home Screen page. Third, decide your rule for the two displays, for example “cover display only.” Fourth, look at your Screen Time report after one week and adjust. The report shows real pickups and minutes, which is more useful than a guess.

Common questions

How do I put a time limit on TikTok on iPhone?

Go to Settings, Screen Time, App Limits, Add Limit, choose the app or the Social category, and set a daily time.

Will a Screen Time limit stop me from scrolling?

Only if you do not tap past it. A passcode held by someone else makes it much firmer.

Can I keep TikTok but remove the endless feed?

In TikTok's own app, not as far as we know. In Stillfeed, tiktok.com opens with For You redirected to Following.

Does this work on the iPhone Duo?

Screen Time is part of iOS and works on any iPhone. Stillfeed is an iPhone app that runs on the Duo as such.
