How to block Reels on Facebook on iPhone

Facebook has no setting that turns Reels off. Here is what Stillfeed does about it on iPhone, what it leaves alone, and the one risk you should weigh before you sign in.

A tidy desk with a phone face-down beside an open notebook and coffee

Quick answer: Stillfeed, an in-app browser for iPhone, opens Facebook with a Block Reels switch that is on by default. It is free. Pro's time and focus tools work on Facebook too; the other Pro extras are not available there yet. Facebook makes you log in first, and that carries an account risk covered below.

Why Reels are the part worth blocking

Many people open Facebook for a specific job: an event, a group, a message, a relative's photos. Reels are the short videos that play one after another once you stop on one. You open Facebook for a reason and leave twenty minutes later without having chosen anything you watched.

As far as we know, as of November 2026, Facebook offers no setting that removes Reels. You can limit your time or trim who you follow, but the Reels surface stays.

What Stillfeed does on Facebook

Stillfeed loads Facebook inside its own browser, signed into your own account. It has one free switch for Facebook:

  • Block Reels, on by default. With it on, Reels are kept out and you are sent back to the feed.

Stillfeed never changes your Facebook account, friends or posts, and it does not change Facebook's own settings. Your login goes straight to Facebook, and no Stillfeed account is needed.

What Stillfeed does not do on Facebook

Facebook support covers Reels and nothing else. Stillfeed does not remove Watch, Suggested posts, People You May Know or sponsored posts on Facebook, and it does not hide like counts or notifications there. If the main feed itself is what you scroll, Block Reels will not stop that.

Before you log in: the account risk

Facebook shows a login wall before anything else, and you cannot dismiss it. To use Facebook in Stillfeed you have to sign in there.

Stillfeed is a different kind of browser from Safari. Platforms may challenge or lock accounts that sign in from a browser they do not treat as standard, and Facebook is one of the platforms where that can happen. Stillfeed cannot promise it will not, and nothing here is a guarantee that your account stays untouched. If the account holds years of photos, runs a business page, or is how you reach people you cannot reach another way, weigh that first.

Free or Pro?

Block Reels is free from your first launch, with no account and no trial. Stillfeed Pro is optional. On Facebook it adds the time and focus tools that work on every platform Stillfeed opens: a daily time limit, a session timer, quiet hours, a pause before opening, grayscale, a streak widget and Detox Mode. The other Pro extras, such as word filters and hiding sponsored posts, show "Not available yet" on Facebook.

How to set it up

  1. Download Stillfeed from the App Store and open it.
  2. Pick Facebook.
  3. Log in as you normally would, having read the account risk above.
  4. Browse. Block Reels is already on.

Trade-offs to know about

  • Only Reels go. The rest of Facebook looks the way Facebook shows it.
  • It's the website. Facebook's mobile website can differ from the app, and some app-only features may not be there.
  • It only works inside Stillfeed. The official Facebook app is unchanged. Move it off your home screen and put Stillfeed in its place.
  • iPhone only. There's no Android version.

More on other platforms

Stillfeed also works with Instagram, YouTube, X, Reddit, TikTok, Snapchat and LinkedIn. See them all on the platforms page. For the habit behind it, read Facebook addiction: signs, why it hooks you and what helps, or take the doomscrolling test.

Common questions

Does Stillfeed work with Facebook?

Yes, from App Store version 1.2.4. Stillfeed opens Facebook in its in-app browser with a Block Reels switch, which is on by default. The other Facebook feeds are not changed.

Is the Facebook part of Stillfeed free?

Block Reels is free from your first launch, with no account and no trial. Stillfeed Pro is optional. On Facebook it adds the time and focus tools that work on every platform Stillfeed opens; the other Pro extras show Not available yet on Facebook.

Does Stillfeed remove Facebook Watch or Suggested posts?

No. Stillfeed's Facebook support covers Reels only. Watch, Suggested posts, People You May Know and the rest of the feed are left as Facebook shows them.

Can Facebook lock my account if I log in through Stillfeed?

It might. Facebook requires a login before it shows anything, and platforms may challenge or lock accounts that sign in from a browser they do not treat as standard. Stillfeed is not Safari, and it cannot promise Facebook will accept it. If the account matters a lot to you, weigh that before you sign in.

Keep the app. Lose the endless feed.

Stillfeed removes Reels, Shorts and Explore from Instagram and YouTube, free from your first launch. No setup, no sign-up.
